The detriment of oil pipeline corrosion


With the continuous progress of the oil and gas industry, the demand of world energy is increasing, and the oil and gas resources that are easy to be extracted are becoming less and less. The exploration and development of oil and gas fields is gradually turning to the regions with more severe environmental conditions.
In recent years, the oil and gas fields with high CO2, Cl-, H2S, high temperature, high pressure and element sulfur came out, the corrosion conditions led to serious corrosion in the casing pipe of oil and gas well, the gathering pipeline, especially under the influence of temperature and pressure, it is easy to cause pipeline perforation, cracking and other accidents, even fire and explosion endanger people’s lives and property.
For these corrosive environments, traditional monometal and anti-corrosion technologies have been unable to meet the requirements of safe development. General steel pipe in the corrosive environment conditions prone to cracking and corrosion, it brings a lot of hidden trouble, and if select metal material with well corrosion (316L, duplex steel 2205, nickel-based alloy 825, etc.), the parts for corrosion resistance is only about 1/3, the rest is used as pressure and support, which caused great waste of resources and one-time investment cost is very high.
